Spring 2024
Spring 2024 season registration runs from November 2023 through February 4, 2024.
Although Spires supports the Frederick High School and Gov. Thomas Johnson area feeder schools we do not turn away children from other districts. Our registration is open to ANY child who wants to play lacrosse regardless of school, or experience.
Ages
Our teams are formed for the following age groups for both boys and girls:
• Grades 7/8- Players who are currently in grades 7 or 8
• Grades 5/6- Players who are currently in grades 5 or 6
• Grades 3/4- Players who are currently in grades 3 or 4
• Grades 1/2- Players who are currently in grades 1 or 2
• Scoopers- For players in preschool and kindergarten.
When
The season begins on Monday, March 4 and runs through our Conference End of Season Tournament held on May 18/19, 2024 at Utica Park.
Scooper practices will not begin until the week of April 1, 2024.
Where
The location of practices and home games:
Grades 1/2 (both boys & girls): Clover Hill Park
Grades 3/4 (both boys & girls): Clover Hill Park
Grades 5/6 & 7/8 Boys: Clerestory Park
Grades 5/6 & 7/8 Girls: Greenleaf Park
Scoopers: TBD
Practices
Each team will practice twice a week in the evenings. The nights of practice are determined by the coaches and will be decided by our Traditional Back 2 Lax Night being held on February 27, 2024.
Games
For the regular season there are 8 games (except for Scoopers - see below). Boys games are held on Saturdays and Girls games are held on Sundays. Opening weekend is March 16/17, 2024. There are no games Easter weekend (March 30/31, 2024). Home games are held at the same field as practices. Away games are held mostly in Frederick County but our Conference does include teams from Montgomery, Washington County and Martinsburg, WV. The game schedule is anticipated to be released the week of the first games.
Scoopers scrimmages will be held on Saturdays starting on April 20 through May 11, 2024. They will not participate in the End of Season Tournament.
Registration Costs
For teams Grades 1-8, the registration cost for the spring season is $195. If you register by December 15, 2023, you will receive a $20 discount (limit 1 per family). We do offer a payment plan. A $75 non-refundable deposit (per athlete) is required at the time of registration. The remaining $120 can be paid in 2 payments of $60 (January 1 and February 1, 2024).
For Scoopers, the registration cost is $75.00. We do offer a payment plan. A $25 non-refundable deposit (per athlete) is required at the time of registration. The remaining $50 can be paid in 2 payments of $25 (January 1 and February 1, 2024).
Uniform Package
Scoopers do not need to purchase a uniform. A team t-shirt will be provided with registration.
If you are a returning Spires athlete from the 2023 season, unless you need a new uniform, you do not need to purchase a new uniform.

Uniforms must be ordered by February 4, 2024.
USA Lacrosse Membership
Spires Lacrosse does require all athletes and coaches to have and maintain a current USA Lacrosse Membership. The membership must be good through May 31, 2024 for this season. Please visit https://www.usalacrosse.com/membership to renew or get a new membership.
Spring 2024
Spires Lacrosse is excited for the Spring 2024 season! Grades 1-8 program costs will be $195 for the season. There is a $75 non-refundable deposit due at time of registration. We do offer a payment plan with the first payment of $60.00 due by January 1, 2024. The second and final payment of $60.00 will be due by February 1, 2024.
The Scoopers Program Grades costs will be $75 for the season. There is a $25 non-refundable deposit due at time of registration. We do offer a payment plan with the first payment of $25.00 due by January 1, 2024. The second and final payment of $25.00 will be due by February 1, 2024.
Spires will be requiring every athlete to maintain a current USA Lacrosse Membership throughout the season. Become a USA Lacrosse Member.
If you are a returning Spires athlete, you do not need to purchase a new uniform. If you are new to Spires, you do need to purchase a new designed uniform (except for Scoopers). Uniforms need to be directly purchased through our Team Store at https://blatantteamstore.com/collections/spires-lacrosse-team-store. The uniform costs are in addition to the program cost. Uniforms must be ordered by February 4, 2024.
The Spring 2024 season is scheduled to begin on March 2, 2024 and end on May 18/19, 2024. Scoopers practices begin the week of April 1, 2024.
